iBobber Wireless Fish Finder

Great Tacklebox Addition for All Types of Anglers and Styles of Fishing

The mobile fish finder and app that you can bring with you wherever you fish. The iBobber was designed with portability and flexibility in mind so anglers of all skill levels and types could take the latest in portable sonar fish finding technology with them on the go. Using an iPhone or Android mobile device anglers can mark fish, map depth contours and underwater structure, save water temp, weather and location, species, photos and hot spots and choose to share on social media directly if desired.

The iBobber is one of the best personal fish finder on the market for fishing from shore and docks, and is ideal for kayak, raft or canoe fishing and for bottom sounding areas not accessible by boat. It works in saltwater and freshwater, and is very effective at locating fish and structures on ponds, lakes, streams, and rivers. It even works for ice fishing.

The free app syncs via Bluetooth Smart to the iBobber device, and allows you to map waterbeds, mark spots, log water temps and depth, add lures, species, and photos in the trip log. The built-in LED beacon, and the strike and fish alarms, are great for ice fishing, carp, and night fishing. The high contrast design and the app’s anti-glare setting increases visibility in bright outdoor lighting.

Fishing Gifts

Do you have an angler or outdoors lover in the family for whom you’d like to buy some fishing gear for but don’t know what to get? Are you an angler worried that your spouse is going to spend a bunch of money on some gear you don’t need or already have? In either case we have a great solution for you. The iBobber portable fish finder and app is a great fishing gift for the angler on the go, the young angler just getting into fishing and even the seasoned pro with all the gear imaginable. There are several reasons why we think the iBobber makes a great fishing gift at the holidays, on birthdays, Father’s Day or Mother’s Day. The relatively low price and high quality are immediate advantages and even for the fisherman who has everything, including a fishing boat and lots of gear, chances are they don’t have a portable fish finder in their tacklebox.

A lot of anglers are very picky about their gear, especially rods, reels and lures and the iBobber is a great new piece of tackle that they most likely don’t already have. The iBobber is a personal sonar device that helps anglers catch fish in a wide variety of situations and will augment anyone’s individual fishing style. Plus, it’s cool and uses the latest in sonar and mobile phone technology and anyone who loves tech will enjoy using the iBobber. You can think of it as an iPhone fish finder or Android fish finder and it even works with the Google Watch and iWatch.

If your favorite angler loves ice fishing it makes a great Christmas / Holiday season gift because they will be able to go out and use it immediately. The iBobber and app are ideal tools for ice fishing due to the light weight and portability, making it easy to bring along on the ice, but also for the ice fishing features like the fish alarm, when fish are present, trip log to save your favorite spots, water temps, depths and species caught and GPS marking for future trips.

The app is free and so it’s especially useful for sharing with others like when camping or at a house on the water where lots of people come and fish and folks take out rafts, canoes, kayaks, rowboats, jonboats etc. The light weight and portability are features that make it perfect for camping, RVing and hiking trips and for times when using a boat is not practical or allowed. If the angler in your family has their phone, the ultralight iBobber and their current fishing gear they can find fish anywhere they go.

I really like the idea of these mobile fish finders. They are a fantastic idea for shore and kayak/canoe fishing. I decided to try the ibobber brand based upon simplicity and price. I tried this thing out right away when I got it and decided to return it for a few reasons. One reason of concern was the way this thing attached to your fishing line. There’s a tiny metal bushing with a hole in it about the size of the eye of a good sized fishing hook and that was surrounded by a very minimal amount of plastic which was attached to the device. I was very concerned that the cheap and under designed mounting method would break possible resulting in a loss of the device. It has a cradle that you must use if you want to charge the device. If that gets lost or stops working, you are going to be without your product. Not sure why they don’t utilize a more popular changing Port. Another concern of mine was the battery. When I received it, I charged it for a while before I used it. When the battery was at %93, I decided to go try it. It took me about 7 minutes to drive to our local pond and by the time I got there, the battery level was at a reported %34. After reading others reviews, I see other people have had the same issue with rapid battery discharge. Perhaps the device just isn’t reporting battery level properly. Probably the final reason I decided to rate this so poorly and return it was the lack of accuracy. When I first put this in the water, it said there were fish everywhere. So much that I immediately thought this was a defective unit. I tried a few other spots and got the same thing. Smaller fish symbol for fish under 15″ and larger fish symbol for fish over 15″. I’m certain that is also inaccurate. I would say that at minimum, %50 of the fish on my screen over multiple casts were larger than 15″. I know for a fact that there are very few fish in this particular pond that are over 15″ so that was a concern too. I ended up taking it to another small body of water that branches of from the river to test it out there. There are larger fish in this area but usually not many fish in general. This thing was still picking up fish like crazy just feet from the shore. I don’t think the accuracy of the depth is the greatest either which is also reported in other reviews. When I got it 3′ from the shore, it claimed the water was 6′ deep when it’s really only 1′-2′ deep. After about 30 minutes of usage, my battery on the ibobber must have been getting pretty low as it started having a few connectivity issues. It does have a few good features though. The simplicity and ease of use was great. It also has a strike warning which I’m not entirely sure how or if it works but it would be awesome if it did. Lastly, it does have an led light that you can turn on and off at night if you wanted to see it. I really wanted to like this and use it but I think this needs some major improvement. Based on the cheap feeling structural design and lack of accuracy, I would not recommend this product to anyone.

I just got mine and I’ll start using it this weekend. So far I really like it, it’s compact and easy to use anywhere. I’ll provide an update after I get some time on it.Update:I used it most of the day today and it works great. Although the fish weren’t biting it was picking up a lot of them of all different sizes. The only thing I don’t understand is in the app and book it states it picks up above and below 15” size fish with orange tags for below 15” and green tags for above 15” . Today I experienced 20” to 37” fish on the sonar but the tags were orange. I’m not quite sure what to think of that yet. In accordance the tags should’ve been green for those sizes. I love how it tells me how deep the water is and the raw sonar is handy too.

Love the iBobber. Great while drifting to show the fish from my kayak! Just be sure to buy a protective cover for your phone! Worked flawlessly.

Works well from what little I’ve used in this off-season. Really helpful identifying the structure beneath the water surface so I can make good decisions on what tackle to use. The compact size makes it easy to fit in my gear box.Only negative worth noting was getting the firmware to update took several tries to get it to work. Not sure what the issue was, but the product FAQs were really lacking in the firmware update troubleshooting area.Love the device overall and highly recommend it to my fellow anglers!

So after having the ibobber for about a y at now and using it dozens of times here are my thoughts. It does the job of depth and markingnsome fish. If the water is really choppy it won’t stay connected but that is to be expected when fishing wirelessly. It’s nice to have the lighted ability of it and the range works well for bank fishing. I have used it on my pontoon and it’s a big help there as long as I am not too shallow. The dislikes is being on Apple it took me a while to get the firmware to update but it will just had to try it a few times. When mapping the water bottom it’s should have an indicator to let you know if you reel too fast or too slow. That’s about it though to anyone who purchases it enjoy your fishing.
